Healing Qigong with teacher Ning

The organ Qi is the most refined form of Qi in the body. Traditional Chinese Medicine works with this organ Qi in order to improve the functioning of the whole body. Each of the organs is related to other functions and structures in the body. For instance the kidney Qi is related to the bones, the teeth and the ears. The liver Qi is related to the eyes and immune system. The organs are not only related to physical structures and functions, they also relate to different emotional patterns and our conditioned nature. All energy of our experiences, family patterns and cultural influences included – our memories – are stored in the organs. When the emotions were too overwhelming or intense, this can cause just as much trouble as external factors like what food we eat, the cleanliness of the air, etc. Self healing for the organs therefore improves our physical and emotional well being.

In essence everyone of us has enough Qi for healthy functioning of the body and to live a fulfilled life. Due to the way we live, our experiences, habits and programmes the Qi gets influenced and can get stuck, flow in the wrong direction (anti flow) or depletes itself.

One basic rule for the organ Qi flow in our body is that the lungs and heart energy should flow down. If, somehow, this is obstructed, the energy gets stuck in the upper part of our body, causing problems in the chest area, shoulders, neck and head. On the other hand, the kidney and liver Qi should flow up. When that flow is stuck, it causes problems in the lower part of the body, in the legs, sexual organs, in the belly and lower back.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine-Qigong we mainly work with the five  – or actually six – main (Zhang) organs which are related to the six Fu organs:

Lungs – Large intestine
Kidneys – Bladder
Liver – Gallbladder
Spleen/Pancreas – Stomach
Pericardium – Triple Warmer
Heart – Small Intestines

Within this constellation the stomach and pancreas play a key role: they are the gatekeepers for the downward and upward Qi flow. You can for instance work on the large intestine, but when the pancreas blocks the upward Qi flow, your practice doesn’t fully get the desired effect.

Transforming the conditioned nature

It is recommended to not only focus on the energy healing for the organs, but also to transform the conditioned nature. Each of our organs is related to a certain emotion, a certain conditioned nature. When we experience negative emotions like fear, anger, resentment or being annoyed on a regular basis, this can harm our organ Qi and thereby our physical body. Transforming the conditioned nature is about becoming aware of your emotions without identifying with them. Not by denying the emotions, but by observation. Then these emotions can find their natural flow and will no longer harm us. You can find more information on this subject in the tab ‘conditioned nature/negative emotions’ in the catalogue on this page.

Unexpected benefits

The catalogue we provide on this page, provides an indication which organ Qi method you can apply related to certain complaints, for a certain health benefit. At the same time we – including Western medicine and Eastern medicine – do not know much about how the body functions and why it functions this way. That’s why although we expect certain benefits when we do practice for a specific organ, you can be open to other effects as well. Practice shows us,for example, that sometimes healing exercises for the lungs can help to restore the heart problems.

We have a right liver AND a left liver. Left liver is in western medicine the spleen. Its function is to protect ourself, it is our immune organ. In TCM we say that the function of the right liver is explained by the gallbladder. The left liver – spleen – actually works for energy flow up. The function of the right liver is more explained by the gallbladder. The people often ignore the left liver – spleen – when they work for their liver. That is because often the right liver is the one that gets into trouble. The left liver – spleen- does not get into trouble easily.

How can we keep both livers healthy? We have to work on some other organs to keep them healthy.

We have to work on the lungs to let the energy flow down. We have to help to stay triple warmer energy stay in the triple warmer organ – center right kidney. And we need to keep the kidneys heating well. When these three organs work very well then your liver will stay healthy.

Another way to keep our liver strong is by being kind to ourselves. To be like a friend to ourselves, don’t blame ourselves. Without the emotions of anger the liver energy will flow up smoothly up to the heart to support the heart.

For the liver it is important to sleep between 10 pm and 1 am. In that time you nourish the Yin energy (blood) in the liver.

Strengthen your self healing abilities (liver)
